Paying it forward
Well, it’s been a minute. I plan to send an update about our house soon. But the short of it is we’ve moved back to Louisville and are renting while we rebuild. The new house should be done in March!
But I need your help.
Quickly
We’ve been Juanita’s client for years. Her husband had a medical emergency a couple of months ago. He’s recuperating.
Juanita and her husband are uninsured, and the medical bills are massive.
I’d love your help with covering their medical bills, https://gofund.me/8ad96cbe.
Slowly
You all were more than gracious contributing to fundraisers to help us out financially after the Marshall Fire. Thank you. I’m asking you all to help someone in need.
We've been Juanita's client for years (she’s on the left). She runs a house-cleaning business with her sisters. They are impeccably professional. And they pay attention to details. My kids are always delighted when they discover their stuffed animals arranged in novel ways after Juanita and her team come through our house.
Her husband Esteban (on the right) works in construction. And together they're raising a family of 4 (three girls, and a boy). Last month Esteban suddenly couldn't walk. Juanita took him to the emergency room. The doctors discovered a growth on his spinal cord near the base of his skull. And during several attempts to remove it surgically, Esteban had a total of six heart attacks.
The doctors abandoned the surgical approach and have resorted to less invasive options.
But the result is that Esteban spent 3 weeks in the hospital. He's now at home, but he struggles to walk. And he can't work. Not yet.
Juanita and her family are uninsured. While I don't think $30K will fully cover their bills, I think it'll make a good dent. We're reaching out to folks to help Juanita and her family get through this.
How can you help?
On Thursday, December 30, 2021, Juanita and her sisters finished cleaning our house in Louisville, Colorado. Hours later our house burned down in the Marshall Fire, along with over 1,000 other houses. I was deeply, deeply touched and grateful by the outpouring and response from you all. I want to pay this forward and help Juanita and her family. And I'd love your help.
A donation, even a small one, will go a long way for Juanita and her family. Here’s the link to the GoFundMe we’ve set up for them, https://gofund.me/8ad96cbe.
